Louisa Gagliardi prints her digital painting worlds in classical inkjet on thick Chromolux cardboard. Thus, as in her unique works, the painterly component is replaced by painting in Photoshop and transferred from digitality to haptics. As a trained photographer at the ECAL Lausanne, Louisa moved quickly from photography and design to the digital world of painting. Pushing the boundaries of the idea, what a painting is nowadays, Gagliardi often uses for her digital paintings add-ons such as nail polish or lacquer, to enhance their painterly value.
